Ms. Olembo is a Kenyan national with over 20 years of regional expertise in gender equality, women empowerment, prevention and response to sexual and gender based violence, as well as, reproductive health rights and advocacy.
She is widely experienced in conducting in-depth mapping for gender based violence, gender analyses, in addition to, organisational gender gaps and audits that focus on policies.
Ms. Olembo is highly knowledgeable in practical methodologies for gender mainstreaming and means to influencing government policies. She has conducted gender analysis for international and local organisations including, Plan International, CARE International, World Vision, UN Women and Action against Hunger-Uganda. Ms. Olembo’s analyses have been used to develop gender strategies and influence policies regionally.
She obtained a Master’s degree in Organisational Leadership with emphasis on Non-Governmental Organisation leadership from the Eastern University in the United States of America and a second Master’s degree in Applied Population Research from Exeter University in the United Kingdom.
